Human beings are inherently attracted to negativity. Yes, there is a survival instinct at play here also. Unfortunately, we are not cavemen anymore!
Take a small example. A person suddenly coming in your way during the heavy traffic has more power to ruin your day than a small kind gesture of someone holding the lift for you.
Have you thought that when we are hit by a crisis, you tend to pull out something that you would have never ever done in normal circumstances. Voila! you just turned a crisis into an opportunity.
We create sort of tunnel vision for that one person and get broken when they suddenly vanish. But then there are some people who will not like you in that state and do everything possible to pull you out of that pit. Absence of that person suddenly makes you realise the presence of these awesome people in your life!
People dread natural and man-made calamities. But how many times these terrible things have brought out exceptional examples of goodwill, optimism and resilience in mankind.
What if there is no such thing as good or bad, but just our attitude towards them which influence our opinion about these facts. Opinion are certainly not facts.
Each of us gets very limited amount of time on this tiny blue sphere in universe. Maybe what matters in the end is in what WAY we choose to live it
